EcobuildHer
Ecobuildher is a noble initiative aimed at empowering women in Oshogbo, Osun state, with a particular focus on single mothers, widows, and vulnerable individuals. The program’s core mission is to provide these women with sustainable building construction skills. Through innovative and alternative education methods, Ecobuildher seeks to overcome barriers to education and open doors to opportunities for these deserving women.
By offering intensive training in building construction, Ecobuildher is not only providing practical skills but also empowering women to support themselves and their families independently. This initiative embodies the spirit of women’s empowerment and gender equality, as it gives women the chance to enter traditionally male-dominated fields like construction.
Objectives
- Skill Development: Provide training and education in sustainable building construction techniques to equip these women with valuable skills.
- Economic Empowerment: Enable participants to secure employment or start their businesses in the construction industry, promoting financial independence.

Highlights from July to September 2024
Empowerment and Distribution of Tools in Partnership with Abimbolu Foundation (July 2024)
EMPOWERMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF TOOLS; Akinkanju NGO collaborated with Abinbolu NGO to empower women in Egbedi Community, Osun State. The women in Akinkanju Self Help Group women from the community took part in the program. Pitching was done by the various participants, and the successful applicants were given tools. These tools are designed to help women start or enhance their small businesses, fostering economic independence and financial stability. This empowerment program has been instrumental in changing the lives of women and their families. The empowerment program is supported by the American Consulate in Nigeria.
